The South Dakota Association for Mortgage Professionals, established in 2024, is a leading trade group representing mortgage loan officers and affiliate partners in South Dakota. Our mission is to support the highest professional and ethical standards while promoting development and prosperity among the industry as a whole.

To establish and sustain a lasting legacy of principled leadership within South Dakota's mortgage industry by uniting mortgage professionals and our affiliate partners, elevating ethical standards, strengthening professional excellence, influencing meaningful public policy, fostering trusted industry partnerships, and ensuring that sustainable homeownership and thriving local communities remain central to the state's economic future.

To promote the highest degree of professionalism for members and to provide ethical and professional standards of conduct.
Provide an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and opinions from Mortgage Professionals regarding their profession through education, study, and communication.
Provide a forum for the development of common business interests and educational opportunities among members.
Collect and disseminate information and data relating to Mortgage Professionals and their profession.
Conduct and cooperate in drafting curricula for course of study for persons desiring to improve their understanding of the mortgage market and their expertise as mortgage professionals.
To monitor and disseminate information on legislative and regulatory activity affecting members, present the positions of the Association where applicable, and promote a favorable legislative and regulatory environment for Mortgage Professionals.
To cooperate with related professionals and industries to promote the industry of Mortgage Professionals and enhance the public perception thereof.
To advocate for the consumer as it relates to the mortgage industry regulations.

About Us

The mission of the South Dakota Association for Mortgage Professionals is to provide services, support and information to its members and to promote sound and ethical business practices consistent with industry standards. As the voice of the mortgage industry in the State, it shall, when appropriate:

Seek and support legislation beneficial to its membership and the general public. Actively oppose legislation that is deemed harmful to the public and its membership.
Encourage and promote sound and ethical business practices among its members and in the real estate finance community.
Educate, train and communicate to its members mortgage industry legislation and changes
